The mouth of Valve, Doug Lombardi, has confirmed thast there will be a Left 4 Dead 2 multiplayer demo. Speaking at a London preview event, Lombardi revealed that the same type of demo that was so successful for the first L4D will be available for the sequel. Why change a winning formula?

Namco Bandai has secured the US publishing rights for the Dragon Ball z franchise for the next 5 years. The deal covers all major consoles and handheld gaming systems, starting in January 2010. This includes the release of three DBZ games by the end of this year. Great news for Dragon Ball fans.

The entire development team over at Blue Omega, the people responsible for the Damnation game, have been laid off. This is no real surprise, considering the sales for Damnation were poor, at best. The market just does not have room for another run-of-the-mill TP adventure game. To make it even more complicated, there is a lawsuit being filed as well.

Capcom has likely put up a teaser website for a new Onimusha game. The website shows three dates -- 1560, 1673, and 1582, before striking them out and stamping 1600 over them. These three dates happen to coincide with the first three Onimsuha installments on the PS2, in sequential order. A new Onimusha game would certainly give Capcom a boost after the poor sales of Bionic Commando.

When Blizzard does anything, people go nuts. Now it seems that the Blizzard WoW house has filed for a trademark on the name "Cataclysm." This has led to speculation that the next WoW expansion could be called Cataclysm, or it could be something completely separate. We're hoping for the latter. Rumor mill for now, more info when we have it.

The sale of Midway Games to Warner Brothers Interactive has been approved by a US Court. The deal is expected to close within 10 days. Unfortunately, the Midway studios that were not included in the sale which included the Newcastle Studio (Wheelman), and the San Diego Studio (TNA), have only 60 days until they will be closed down. Hopefully they can find buyers for themselves.

Well, folks, an interesting bit of info has surfaced over at JeuxFrance. Rumor mill for now, but according to the article, the PSP GO may not launch in France -- at least not right away. The gripe is that retailers do not want to sell a machine that has no possibility of said retailers making money on games and accessories. As you know, the PSP GO will have download-only games, as it has no UMD drive. This pretty much leaves retailers with just the profit on the hardware, which is usually around 1-2% only. Of course, leave it to the French to gripe, but it does certainly make sense if you are a retailer. Let's hope it does not catch on, or Sony will have to pull a serious rabbit out of their hat on this one.

Microsoft has responded to concerns over its recent announcement that the addition of the MS Silverlight software (the Microsoft equivalent of Shockwave) will allow ads to interfere with Xbox Live functionality. Major Nelson reassured gamers on his website that MS only intends to enhance the ad service with Silverlight, not interfere with or revamp it totally. He claims we do not have to worry about a huge influx of advertising on XBL. We really hope not, Larry, because it would be a shame to pay for XBL Gold and get swamped with ads, too. Especially when PSN is free and relatively ad-free.
