As if there were not enough players in the juggernaut World of Warcraft, Blizzard has now begun a "Recruit a Friend" campaign. If a player can successfully convince a friend to sign up and play, they will be rewarded with a free mount, faster XP accumulation, and other rewards. Another benefit of the RaF program is that buddies will be able to summon each other from anywhere in the world, and you can grant your friend one free level as well. Blizzard is getting greedy, it seems -- they not only want the sons and daughters playing, but it sounds like they want the parents and grandparents playing too!

The lead Bungie AI programmer, Damian Isla, spoke with GI, and stated that the developer has "a lot to learn" from Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4. The subject arose when the topic turned to the rivalry between CoD4 and Halo 3 as the top played Xbox Live game. It occurs to us that if Bungie has a lot to learn about "scripted single-player experiences" from Infinity Ward, wouldn't that mean that Bungie is planning another main storyline Halo game? Just a thought.

Sony is going to be offering different pre-order bonuses for Little Big Planet, and the PS blog has the rundown posted. Strategy guides, patches, and a sticker book, help fill out the list. Sony is really putting a ton of hopes on this game. We certainly hope it pans out, for all our sakes.

It looks like the Halo movie project may not be totally dead. According to LatinMovieReview, a new script for a prequel movie (based on the Fall of Reach novelization), is being penned by Stuart Battie (the man behind the Pirates of the Caribbean). Apparently the script's got Hollywood so hyped up that artist Kasra Farahani (Spider-Man, Hancock) has even created concept art for the film's eventual pitch to Microsoft. Stay tuned!

NCSoft has revealed their new game, it is called Blade & Soul, and it is a new MMO (of course), inspired by martial arts. The game is from the creators of Lineage II, one of the top teams over there at NC, so we are in for a treat. You can check out the trailer that includes gameplay over at EurogamerTV. It looks pretty graphically impressive for an MMO, wow.

Apparently, Id has had more than a few offers from publishers to produce a Quake-themed MMO game. Id has turned them all down, as Carmack himself related to Shacknews in an interview. He says Id is just not interested in developing an MMO, and in fact, underestimated what it is taking to produce their web-based Quake Live game.

Criterion is apparently just adding the finishing touches to the bikes add-on pack for Burnout Paradise. For the first time, players will be able to ride motorcycles in a Burnout game. The best part is, it's free. It might be worth picking up the game used if you got rid of it already, just to check out bike racing in Paradise City.

Saints Row 2 producer Dan Sutton spoke with CVG yesterday, and related why the Wii is not likely to get a port of the franchise. Sutton claims that the use of the Wiimote as an on-screen weapon would likely cause too much "controversy." We must say, sad is the day that politics dictate what systems get what games."With games like ours you get much more controversy when you add motion controls like you saw with Manhunt 2," said Sutton. "We have weapons like chainsaws, satchel charges, stuff like that. I can definitely see people having a problem and outcry towards that because it does actually feel like you're using weapons that way."
