The first movie stills from the Prince of Persia set have been revealed, and holy cow, talk about a beef-up! Brokeback Mountain star Jake Gyllenhaal looks like he ate a pound of steroids a day. His name in Hollywood right now is apparently "the Prince Of Beefcake." You will see why when you click the image link.

It looks like the Halo movie project may not be totally dead. According to LatinMovieReview, a new script for a prequel movie (based on the Fall of Reach novelization), is being penned by Stuart Battie (the man behind the Pirates of the Caribbean). Apparently the script's got Hollywood so hyped up that artist Kasra Farahani (Spider-Man, Hancock) has even created concept art for the film's eventual pitch to Microsoft. Stay tuned!

At ComicCon, Capcom spoke a bit about the game-to-film adaptations of some of their franchises. Included in this discussion was mention of the upcoming CG film, Resident Evil: Degeneration. The movie is in the final stages of production. The writer, Sotaro Suga, the man behind Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, is well known to anime fans. The film relates the story of Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield from RE2.. According to Capcom, Degeneration is set 7 years after the original Racoon City incident. The rest we hope to discover while watching. No release date was mentioned, but it is set to begin screening over at Disney on October 18, 2008, apparently.

Even though Mark Wahlberg is playing the rael life Max Payne in the upcoming film, he claims he will not even think of checking out the game. He says since he has an addictive personality, ti will definitely suck up his time, and he has kids to raise and movies to make! We end up finding time, Mark!

Cliffy B. at ComicCon today, spoke a bit about the upcoming GoW movie. He said that the company is hoping to get actors who can, you know, act, not just fill out the huge Gears armor that the role requires. Cliff said he realizes that most game movies stink, and he is really shooting to make the Gears movie different. He then said, bascially, there would be no pro-wrestlers filling the main roles in the film. Let's hope so, eh?

Yes, folks, you read correctly. The teaser trailer for the sequel to one of the first, and some say best, video-game themed was shown as ComicCon, and someone grabbed it. The quality is horrid, and it is skewed and badly soundtracked, but you get the idea. Jeff Bridges, well, he looks like he means business. Check it out, all we need now is a sequel to Wargames! Well, it haqs finally happened. Western civilization as we know it has collapsed. Get ready to eat your neighbors, folks. What? Oh wait, sorry, we are getting ahead of ourselves. It seems that EA is going to be bringing its games to the big screen. EA and UTA have partnered to allow for the EA owned IPs to be made into movies and TV series. Army of Two, Need for Speed, and Dead Space, are all virtually begging for movie conversions. We would like to see some of the more obscure games on the silver screen, though, such as Madden Instructional Speaking Courses, and Command & Conquer: Dealing With Your Neighbor's Dog.

Ubisoft apparently is having 'no involvement' with the upcoming Prince of Persia movie."The new Prince of Persia film is a collaboration between [Prince of Persia creator] Jordan Mechner and Disney," it said. "Ubisoft has no involvement."Interesting, especially considering the movie is based on the first game from 2003, Sand of Time. Time indeed will tell how good it is.
