London, UK – 13th October, 2008 – The dogs of war are being unleashed today, as Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) and developer Treyarch announced the launch of the multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: World at War on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. Console players can guarantee themselves a token by pre-ordering the game at UK Game retail locations,* or online at http://www.game.co.uk/. Call of Duty fans that register to become members at www.callofduty.com are also eligible to receive a token, but these tokens are limited in supply, so register today. Additionally, Eurogamer will also be distributing keys from 5pm today on a first-come, first-served basis (http://www.eurogamer.net/).

It seems that Capcom may be prepping another fantastic surprise for us, and releasing Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 on the XBLA and PSN (we assume). If you head on over to the ESRB site and search for "Marvel," you will see that it is listed not only on PS2 and Xbox, but PS3 and XBox360 as well. Could we be in for another great Capcom treat? Let's hope so, rumor mill for now.

Sony's president of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, stated in an interview with Eurogamer that he does want Microsoft's Xbox360 to succeed in Japan. He says it will help push the concepts of HD gaming to the mass gamer. He would like both the PS3 and Xbox360 to sell well, in fact, in order to convince Japanese gamers that a more sophisticated take on games is preferable over the Wii, he says. The Wii is currently beating both consoles in Japan, with the PS3 and Xbox360 trading higher spots in the sales list, but always lagging behind Nintendo.

"Quite honestly, the real number being sold - we haven't seen real acceptance of the platform here in the Japanese market. The Nintendo Wii is still by far the biggest platform in Japan,"

Bionic Commando producer Ben Judd revealed that Capcom still has an Ace up their sleeve. Not just an Ace, actually, but he said:

We still have a fucking ace up our sleeve. It's an ace, a fucking ace... At TGS (Tokyo Game Show), the Capcom booth stage is going to make people's balls pucker up. It's going to be big.

Strong words! Unfortunately there is a bit of a delay with the Ace, it seems, and we will have to wait another 2-3 weeks now. Stay tuned, though!

This one is in the rumor mill for now, but all indications seem right on. The translation from the Japanese page at the link says Konami is making a new next-gen game in the Satan Castle Dracula series. This is Castlevania, to you laymen. It also says it was debuted at the TGS08 show. There is also a big poster of Alucard by the Konami booth at TGS this year. You can add 2+2+2, can't you? Word is, by the way, it is another 3D based game, but that is unconfirmed at this point.

It looks like Sonic Unleashed is going to be great. Finally, a decent Sonic game! Well, you decide below. The video is labeled as the Wii version, but since there is an HD edition, it may be Xbox 360 or PS3.

The new RE5 trailer showing at TGS 08 is very impressive. As you will see, the game is going to be the best looking RE yet, if nothing else. We have a feeling the gameplay will be on par with the graphics, though.

IGN has a video of deathmatch gameplay from the upcoming Call of Duty: World at War. The footage looks pretty much the same as the deathmatch gameplay now from CoD4, it has not changed much. You can decide for yourself, though.
