There is no longer a need for third party data manipulation software for your PSP. You can grab the official Sony media manager software for the PSP now, free of charge. The website is in Japanese, but you can just hit the gray download bar graphic, and then basically hit next on the program until it installs. We are told the program is in English. Enjoy!

The good folks over at the Official Playstation boards have uncovered a new feature of the PS3 2.10, and 3.80 PSP firmware; the ability to play ALL of the existing Playstation 1 games via PS3 and Remote Play. It's time to break out some Metal Gear Solid! What game will you play first?

According to CVG, the PSP version of Gran Turismo may not appear now until well into 2009. The game was originially shown at the launch of the PSP hardware, and since then, it has been the vaporware of the PSP. Now, the developers of the GT series are saying GT5 for the PS3 will come first. Bad news GT fans.

Sega has just announced Phantasy Star Universe for the PSP. Now, before you get excited, we are sorry to report that as of now the only "online" play the game supports is a 4-player co-op mode via ad-hoc networking. Sega has no plans to put the game online proper. This means it is basically an offline multiplayer dungeon crawler. If you can find others with a PSP and the game, that is. Sega, put this game online and sell a bunch otherwise it will rot in obscurity here in the US.

For those of you who own a PSP and still are wondering about the new PSP store that Sony debuted about 2 weeks ago (which is most of us), then check out this interview and info roundup. It is a nice collection of what to expect in the future from the PSP store, and what it is doing right now.

The web-based PSP version of the PSN store is now open for business, folks. As you can see, it features the same items as the PSN store does on the PS3. The items that are useable by the PSP, that is. Check it out.

We reported earlier that hackers were able to unlock the full gore content in the PSP verison of Manhunt 2. The ESRB revealed:

"Our investigation indicates that the game's publisher disclosed to the ESRB all pertinent content in the authorized Mature-rated version of Manhunt 2 now available in stores, and complied with our guidelines on full disclosure of content,"

Rockstar and the ESRB just cannot seem to see eye to eye these days. Why Rockstar keeps leaving parts of their games that can be unlocked with hacks is beyond us.

With the release of Manhunt 2, amid much controversy, "hackers" have figured out how to chagne the game so that the blood and gore is back in all its glory. As we told you, the game is censored in the US to tone down the violence. This earned the title a Mrating rather than the dreadded AO (Adults Only).
