ELSPA Distances Itself From Nintendo DS Piracy Comment >
2008/02/01 11:24:45: Posted by DM
An ELSPA spokesperson has told GI that a recent story in the Sunday Post about Nintendo DS piracy in america conatins false quotes attributed to a company representative. The Post apparently quoted John Hiller, manager of the ELSPA IP Crime Unit as saying: In America, it's thought 90 per cent of Nintendo DS users are playing pirated games because of R4s. [R4 is a memory card used to play pirated DS roms]" This is apparently inaccurate, as a spokespoerson for the ELSPA now says the article is a "hatchet job," and made this statement:

"[John] didn't quote The Sunday Post on any figures whatsoever." "ELSPA would certainly never presume to comment about America or anywhere else outside of the UK," added the spokesperson.
